JK and SK students got to visit with “The Reptile Man,” herpetologist, Mr. Terry Vandeventor, and talk with him about snakes. He showed students many different types of snakes local to our area. He talked about what snakes eat, which snakes are poisonous, and all the good things snakes do for us, including killing rodents that spread disease. Students even got to touch “Violet”, an Indigo snake. He also taught the kids an important safety tip: “If you see a snake, take 2 steps back and walk away”.
