Applications of Biotechnology students had a fantastic time in lab isolating their own genomic DNA! The students extracted DNA by lysing their cheek cell sample, then watched as wispy white strands of their own DNA precipitated out of a solution containing ethanol. The students ended the lab by transferring their DNA to their own DNA pendant necklaces.
